Editor, the News-Herald:
Suffolk has taken positive steps to revitalize and improve communities throughout the city. I’ve seen areas being cleaned up and houses and apartments beginning to look like place you wouldn’t mind raising your children. Keep up the good work.
There are, however, other areas that are in desperate need of city action to clean up. Over the years, a local mobile home community has bee one of these areas. Trash beside the road, inoperable motor vehicles in the park, electrical extension cords running from one trailer to another, etc. The question begs to be asked, &uot;Who is in charge of this area?
Everyone who works and is doing the best they can deserves a decent place to live. This mobile home park could be such a place, but I feel the city will have to take appropriate action to make it happen. Safety should also be a major concern here.
Let’s get this area cleaned up. &uot;Surprising Suffolk&uot; should be a slogan to be proud of, not something to be surprised by.
