Henry L. Wilson

Henry L. Wilson was born Dec. 31, 1953 to Doris H. Wilson and the late Edward Earl Wilson Sr. He departed this earthly vessel Aug. 23, 2005 at the Veterans' Hospital in Salem after a long illness. He was a 1971 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He later joined the army, where he served for 12 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Stacy Burris Wilson; four stepdaughters, Lashandis Burris, Yarnita Leary, Saquon Stroud and Terri Stroud, all of Suffolk; his mother, Doris H. Wilson of Suffolk; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Gloria Burris of Suffolk; six brothers, Edward E. Wilson Jr. (Dorothy) of Smithfield, Job Wilson (Brenda) of South Carolina, Charles R. Wilson (Carlene) of Chesapeake, John Wilson (Fentra), Carl Wilson and Coselletto Wilson (Trina), all of Suffolk; three sisters, Edith Wilson and Temple Kearney, both of Suffolk, and Hazel Worsely (John) of Portsmouth; an honorary sister, Jennifer Baker; two sisters-in-law, Vanessa Riddick (Stephen) and Andrea Ricks, both of Suffolk; two special aunts, Carrie Edwards and Susie Bailey (Gordon); three uncles, Eligah, Paul and Henry Horton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 29, 2005 in Crocker Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 217 Pinner Street.
