Mrs. Holland honors Mason room mothers
Mrs. Emmett Holland, membership chairman of the George Mason Parent-Teachers Association, entertained the room mothers and their assistants last night at the Hotel Elliott.
Mrs. John D. Eure presided and read the duties of the room representatives.
She said the purposes of the room mothers are to provide close contact between parents and teachers of the children; promote growth of membership, attendance and interest in various classrooms.
Those attending were Mrs. E. W. Elmore, Mrs. W. L. Parker, Mrs. O. K. Hobbs, Mrs. A. W. Livesay, Mrs. Charles E. Nichols, Mrs. A. W. McLaughlin, Mrs. P. E. O’Neal, Mrs. R. S. Brinkley, Mrs. Dudley Rollings, Mrs. Wilson Askew, Mrs. John B. Pinner, Mrs. Haslett Piland, Mrs. B. E. Carr, Mrs. T. C. Foster, Mrs. James E. Powell, Mrs. F. C. Johnson, Mrs. Robert Hewitt, Mrs. John D. Eure and Mrs. Emmitt Holland.
Frederick Clements presents program
The Youth Fellowship of the Providence Methodist Church met Tuesday night at 7:30 in the church auditorium.
Frederick Clements had charge of a program on &uot;Why I Believe in the Church.&uot;
Janevlyn Bailey, Frances Bosselman, Richard Jordan, Frances Bowler, Audrey Clements, Marie Worrell and Curtis Wills, Jr., took part in the program.
HD Club meets with Mrs. Gillette
The Magnolia Home Demonstration Club met Tuesday night with Mrs. Edward Gillette at her home in Magnolia.
Mrs. Gillette presided and Mrs. Bennie Grizzard conducted the devotionals and offered prayer.
The club will sponsor a fish supper Friday, Sept. 22, at the home of Mrs. Charles Grizzard on the old Norfolk road.
The committee appointed for the supper is composed of Mrs. Grace Dwyer, Mrs. Charles Erasmi, and Mrs. Charles Grizzard.
Those present were: Mrs. Grace Dwyer, Mrs. Edward Gillette, Mrs. Charles Grizzard, Mrs. G. L. Wright, Mrs. Edgar Owens, Mrs. Wesley Philhower, Mrs. Raymond Babb, Mrs. Bennie Grizzard, Mrs. Johnnie Bright, Miss Lillian Livesay and Miss Lillie Pruden.
