Authorities charged a Suffolk man in the Sept. 15 shooting death of 23-year-old Roderick Lamont Hill over the weekend.
Police arrested Andre Darrison, 18, of the 400 block of St. James Avenue
on Saturday, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.
Darrison has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling, and reckless handling of a firearm, George said.
Darrison is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
It is unclear if the shooting was intentional, she said. Hill and several others were visiting in the St. James Avenue home at the time of the incident, and there appeared to be no prior argument or problems, said George.
Hill, who was shot once in the chest, died at the scene.
