A Suffolk resident who shot and killed an intruder who broke into his home over the weekend will not face any charges.

Frederick Taylor, 21, a law student at Mercer University in Macon, Ga., shot 42-year-old Edward Wayne Anderson early Sunday morning, said Melanie Hofmann, spokeswoman for the Macon Police Department. Anderson was at the bottom of the staircase inside Taylor’s house when he was shot, she said.

Taylor and his girlfriend, Adrienne Warren, 22, of Chesapeake were in an upstairs bedroom when they heard a glass window breaking, said Hoffman. Taylor went to investigate while Warren stayed upstairs and called police, she said.
