Skate park needed

Editor, the News-Herald:

It’s been awhile since I submitted a letter and this one is about a news article I saw in the Virginian-Pilot about young people being cited by police because they are skating on city property in Cheasapeake and everywhere else.

Big cities like Virginia Beach and Cheasapeake have skate parks and even Franklin has one. I believe we should too because it will get some of the kids off the street and be safer for kids and adults that do skate in-line and on boards. A good area for the park would be behind Farm Fresh or the old hospital site. T like to watch them do tricks on the ramps and such but I dont skate
