Ethel May Harris

Mrs. Ethel May Harris, of 3911 Breakwater Drive in Portsmouth went into rest Oct. 3, 2005 in Riverside Medical Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Cleveland and Annette Harris. She was a former member of the Young’s Chapel Baptist Church in Vadalia, La.
She leaves to mourn three daughters, Sandra Moore (Jeffrey) of Willngboro, N.J., Scherriel Harris of Newport News, Beverly Boone (Jesse) of Portsmouth; six sons, Archie R. James Sr. (Leonella) of Willingboro, Fredrick James (Peggy), Willie R. James Jr. (Elvira) of Burlington, N.J., Mark A. James Sr. (Irene) Willingboro, Russell James Sr. of Richmond, and Daryl I James (Debrah) also of Willingboro, N.J.; 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one special first cousin, Napoleon Mosby and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral of triumph will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 8, 2005 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Holland Section of Suffolk). Rev. Karl Marshall will preside.
Ms. Harris will lie in state from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday Morning at the Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road. The family will receive friends at the home of Jesse and Beverly Boone, 3911 Breakwater Drive, Portsmouth, and will assemble for the funeral procession at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
