Ruby Herrington Umph-lette, passed away Oct. 17, 2005 in Spring Hill, Fla.

Born in Creswell, N.C. and a homemaker and longtime resident of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Herrington and was the widow of Ben J. Umphlette.

She is survived by her mother, Iva Phelps Herrington of Spring Hill, Fla.; her uncle, Douglas Phelps of Windsor; her aunt, Annie Davenport of Plymouth, N.C. and several cousins and their children.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 21, 2005 in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell & Hill Funeral Home by Rev. Carter Dey. Burial will follow in

Holly Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday evening for visitation and at the home of Douglas and Ann Phelps, 50 N. Court Street, Windsor, at other times.
