Revival and concert

New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Rosewood Avenue, Franklin, is hosting a revival focused on family healing Nov. 3 and 4 and a gospel concert featuring recording artist Minister Teddy Cross of New Orleans, Brothers in Christ, Lorita Mason, and others, Nov. 5.

All services start at 7 p.m.

Worship leaders will be Rev. Lucretia Mason of Portsmouth, Louise Mooring of WLQM-Franklin, and Leroy and Janice Butler of WKGM.

The Women’s Fellowship of the Windsor Christian Church is having their annual Ladies Night Out Thursday, Nov. 3.

Canaan Baptist Church, 2064 Nansemond Parkway, will celebrate their Deacons and Deaconesses Anniversary Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m.

First Baptist Church, 112 Mahan Street, will have their Pre-Homecoming Service, Sunday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m.

The guest preacher will be Rev. Dr. Carlton Upton of Tabernacle Christian Church.

Rev. Dr. Upton will be accompanied by his officers, choir, ushers, and members.

Fall Bazaar

Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church, Windsor.

There will be crafts, a wide range of food, a plant shop, and a silent auction.

Lunch (Brunswick stew, ham biscuits, hot dogs and beverages) will be served from 11:30 to 1.

Proceeds do to local and national missions for the upcoming year.

Beautiful Story of Ruth

Sunday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. Woodland United Methodist Church will host the Wesley Characters of Wesley Memorial UMC, Norfolk.

They will present the Beautiful Story of Ruth through comedy, music and drama.

Church visits jail

A group of men from United Full Gospel Revival Suffolk regularly visits male inmates at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail on Saturdays and Sundays. Anyone with an incarcerated friend or family member who may like a visit from these church volunteers can leave a message, including the man’s name, at 925-4805.

Free food, clothing at Capernaum

Capernaum Seventh Day Adventist, 314 York St., as a Community Service Capernaum will prepare a free dinner every Wednesday night beginning from 4:30 to 6 p.m. On Fridays, there will be fresh fruit, vegetables and canned goods. Clothes are available on Sundays. Call 934-9814 for more information.

Oxford clothes closet available

As part of Oxford United Methodist’s church’s mission work in the city of Suffolk, the congregation is operating a clothes closet. Operation hours are from 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday. Hours will expand as the need grows and the closet becomes mores established. Oxford is partnering with other local churches to meet the growing need in Suffolk. Residents are asked to assist in the following areas: prayer, volunteering, and donations (pick-up is available). To assist, call 434-1405.
