Bishop ‘pools’ together wins for Chesapeake

Gabrielle Bishop helped in a relay win and snared an individual race as Chesapeake defeated host Suffolk 866-415 in YMCA swimming action Saturday evening. The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy student swam a leg in the mixed 11-12 200-medley relay and got the 200-freestyle. She also notched second in 50- breaststroke and -butterfly.

The Suffolk squad won the Mixed 7-8 and 9-10 medley relays and got second in the 13-14. Kylie Potter and Ashley Petroski were first and second in girls 6U freestyle, and Samantha Barbour won the 9-10. Will Arcand was second in boys 9-10, and Shannon McDonald took the girls 11-12. Haleigh Wineman and Antonio Petersen notched the girls 13-14 and boys 15-18.

Taylor Berard got second in girls 8U breaststroke, and Curtis Oliver was second in boys 9-10. William Miles got the boys 11-12, and Chalice Rowe was second in girls 13-14. Antonio Petersen won the boys 15-18.

Taylor Berard and Samantha Barbour won the girls 8U and 9-10 individual medleys. Will Arcand was second in boys 9-10, and Shannon McDonald won the girls 11-12.

Suffolk won the mixed 7-8, 9-10 and 13-14 freestyle relays and got second in 11-12. Ashley Petroski won the girls 6U freestyle, and Taylor Berard and David Forman won the 7-8s. Curtis Oliver won the boys 9-10, Haleigh Wineman the girls 13-14 and Antonio Petersen the boys 15-18.

Kylie Potter and Ashley Petroski were first and second in girls 6U backstroke, and Lexi Moffatt and Will Arcand got both 9-10s. William Miles won the boys 11-12, and Haleigh Wineman was second in girls 13-14.

Kylie Potter won the girls 8U butterfly and Samantha Barbour snared the 9-10. Curtis Oliver won the boys 9-10 and Shannon McDonald the girls 11-12. William Miles won the boys 11-12, and Andrew Winegrove was second in boys 13-14.
