Where do they stand?

If you have not had a chance to hear from the city council or school board candidates, the News-Herald will be publishing their comments in the coming days.
We sent every candidate a questionnaire pertaining to the seat they are seeking, and gave them 2,000 words in which to answer those queries and offer any comments they felt were important to their candidacy.
Some of those have come back to us already and others should be here shortly.
Once we have them, they will run in the News-Herald, alphabetically, until all are published. We will attempt to run two or three each day.
The candidates will be answering such questions as “What are the top three issues impacting the residents of Suffolk and what do you plan to do about them,” “Transportation is playing out as a big issue in both the state and local political arena this year. What are the most critical transportation needs facing the city today,” and “What are the top issues for people in the borough you seek to represent?”
We hope this will allow the voters of Suffolk to better understand the positions of those men and women who seek to represent them in the coming years.
