Annie Clara Duval Hicks, 94, of Suffolk, died April 20, 2006.

She was a native of Columbia, NC., and retired from A & P Tea Company.

She was predeceased by her husband, Milam McCoy Hicks Sr. She was also predeceased by her son, Milam McCoy Hicks, Jr.; four sisters and one brother.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and attended Southside Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late, Nancy Elizabeth Johnson Duval and Joseph Theodore Duval.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Phyllis H. and Will H. Wright and Anita H. and Thomas S. Holland both of Suffolk; grandchildren Donna Michelle (Joe) Pitt, Tommy (Fran) Holland, Mary Lou Seidenfaden, Susan Gail Johnson, Darryl Craig Hicks, Andrew McCoy

(Angie) Hicks, and Nada Jane (George) Rioux; and eight great-Grandchildren

The family would like to give special recognition to Ms. Hicks’ faithful nieces and nephews and also her caretaker at Nansemond Pointe, Margaret Newby.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2006, at 10 a.m.

Friends may join the family Friday night at Parr Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery

The Rev. Jonathan Rissmiller and Rev. Stewart McCarter will officiate.
