Dwillar Garcillar Parker Joyner, 68, of the 100 block of Oak Street, Suffolk, departed this earthly life Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born in Southampton county and was daughter of the late Joseph and Viola J. Parker and the widow of James C. Joyner.

She was educated in the Southampton County public schools and was retired from Vi-Tex Packing Company and East End Baptist Church Daycare Center. She was a member of East End Baptist Church and the Voices of Praise, Seniors in Praise, WMU Prayer Ministry, WMU Sharing Group & Women On Mission, Special Care Ministry, Church Office Ministry, Women s Sunday School Class, and Food Service (Funeral) Ministry.

She leaves to treasure her precious memories one daughter, Pamela O. Joyner of Suffolk; one stepson, James A. Hunter of New York; two sisters, Emma P. Winfield (John Robert) of Courtland and Ella Mae Myrick (McCoy) of Suffolk; three brothers, Louis Parker (Belle) of Suffolk, Douglas Parker (Hazel) of Charleston, SC, and D. McCoy Parker (Gwendolyn) of Chesterfield; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Parker, Catherine Parker, and Helena Joyner; special nephew, Minister Travis Parker, Sr. (Julia); several loving nieces, nephews, cousins; devoted friend, Alma B. Wright; and wonderful friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006 in East End Baptist Church by Dr. Mark A. Croston. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
