Mr. Ervin Person (Mike) of 608 Spruce St., Suffolk, quietly departed this life on Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
Mr. Person was born January 6, 1934 in Southampton County. Ervin was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Person.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Jeanette Beale of Suffolk, a devoted friend and companion Pauline Hawks, a brother and a sister Lynn Person and Earlene Rose of Schenectady, N.Y., three cousins Roy Phillips of Suffolk, James Phillips of Texas, and a loyal and devoted cousin Charles Phillips (Carolyn) of Suffolk, an uncle Gurnie Blunt of Franklin, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Person was a former
employee of Lipton Tea, A&P Produce, a former worker of Metropolitan Home for the Aged, the City of Suffolk, and John F. Kennedy High School.
A Service of Triumph will be held 1 p.m. on
Saturday, April 29, 2006, in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel, 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk. Visitation will begin Thursday at 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. The family will assemble at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday at 2620 E. Washington St. for the funeral processional.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Willie Mae Jenkins, 2620 E. Washington St. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
