Mr. Raymond Earl Williams Sr., of 509 Barlow Drive, Portsmouth, died April 24, 2006 in Portsmouth, the husband of Evangelist Dr. Rosa L. Williams and a former member of Celestial Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Minister Faye L. Okolo-Holland (Calvin); three sons, Raymond Earl Wiliams Jr., of Portsmouth, Raymond Wiggins III (Tracey) and Michael L. Knight of Suffolk.
He was the son of (predeceased) Willie W. L. Williams and Emma M. Williams of Portsmouth; two sisters, Shirley Boone (Rev. Leon Boone), and (predeceased) Lavoris L. Pearson of Portsmouth; four brothers, Joe Louis Williams and Melvin D. Williams (Carolyn) of Chesapeake, Alastair W. Williams (Charlene) and (predeceased) Danford L. Williams (Raynell) of Portsmouth; two sisters in law, Nanie P. Williams (Rev. Clarence Williams) and Francis White of Suffolk; two brothers in law, Albert L. Knight and Rudolph L. Bailey of Suffolk; devoted grandchildren, Porcia L. Okolo of Portsmouth and Courtney L. Okolo and Kenneth C. Okolo of Suffolk, and a host of other relatives.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the Garden of Prayer Number 4 Church of God in Christ, 1409 Marshall Ave., Portsmouth. The host pastor is Superintendent Emeritus Samuel Moore; eulogy, Superintendent Sylvester Silver Sr., pastor of Gates of Heaven Church of God in Christ.
