Two die in Friday night shooting

Two shootings in a four-hour span Friday night left two people dead and two injured, including a teenage girl.
The first shooting occurred in the 4000 block of Belleharbour Circle shortly after 7 p.m. A black male wearing a mask approached three people who were sitting in a car in the apartment parking lot, according to a news release from the Suffolk Police Department. Police report the subject robbed one of the people in the vehicle and then shot the other two.
One occupant, identified as Brandon Whittington, 23, of Virginia Beach, was taken to Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. Another, Dynia Ebony Branch, 27, of Chesapeake, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Both victims died as a result of their injuries, according to police.
Police are looking for two vehicles in the vicinity at the time of the shooting, though they don’t know at this point if the people in those cars are connected to the shooting or possible witnesses to the incident.
The first is a newer model white Toyota 4Runner; the second, a black Lexus with a gray strip at the bottom of the doors and dark tinted windows. Police say that both automobiles were in the parking lot at the time of the shooting.
Second shooting injures two
In the second incident, an unknown person shot a teenage girl and adult male in the parking lot of College Square Apartments shortly after 11 p.m., according to police.
The circumstances of this shooting are unknown and currently under investigation.
According to published reports, the man, who was shot in the abdomen, was in stable condition and expected to recover, and the girl was still in surgery.
