William Henry Brown, 57, of the 400 block of St. James Avenue, entered into eternal rest June 7, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Nansemond County to the late William Augusta and Sarah Riddick Brown. He was preceded in death by a brother, John James Brown and a sister, Sarah Hall. Mr. Brown was a painter. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marion E. Brown; four daughters, Clarissa Brown, Nicole Brown of Suffolk, Mary Ann Boykins of Portsmouth, and Denise Baton of Suffolk; one son, Michael Boykins of Franklin six sisters, Mary Ann Kindred, Charlene Williams (Lenard), Linda Jones (Harrison), Joan Norfleet, Shelia Thorne, and Stephanie Hawkins (Murry), all of Suffolk; three sons, Harry Brown (Evelyn), Ernest Brown, and Kenneth Brown, all of Suffolk; six grandchildren; six sisters-in-law, Merline Faulk (Linwood), Margaret Earl Keys, Betty Jean Baton, Judy M. Boone (Robert), Mary Wiggins (Lloyd), and Viola Whitley (Henry); two brothers-in-law, James M. Baton and Carlton Baton (Linda); two uncles, two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, June 12, at Piney Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Parker. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The family will be at the home of Robert and Judy Boone, 2631 Riddick Drive, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
