Flanders, Bunch married

Amy Elizabeth Flanders and Ryan Lee Bunch were married on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Westside Chapel in Greensboro, N.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Michael Flanders of Greensboro, N.C. and the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. George Roderick of Warsaw, N.C., and Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Flanders of Leland, N.C., and Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Collison of Vero Beach, Fl. She is a 1998 graduate of Wesleyan, Christian Academy. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2002 from Campbell University. She is an eighth grade teacher at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, N.C.

The groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas H. Bunch of Suffolk and the grandson of the later Mr. & Mrs. Melvin S. Forehand and the late Mr.& Mrs. J. Haywood Bunch. He is a 1995 graduate of Lakeland High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in 1999 and 2001 respectively from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is employed as a senior design engineer with RF Micro Devices in Greensboro.

The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Chris Lewis of Greensboro, N.C.

The wedding music was presented by Shelley Jennings, pianist, and Scott Thompson, soloist.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an elegant white satin ball gown with silver beaded metallic embroidery on bodice and skirt. The gown featured a chapel train. Her headpiece featured crystal teardrops along the edge of the veil.

Miss Mary Flanders of Greensboro, N.C. served as her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Beth Clatfelter of Youngsville, N.C., Heather Dean of High Point, N.C., Renee Greene of Concord, N.C., Meg Herndon of Washington D.C., Tenika Joyner of High Point, N.C., Bramley Reynolds of Sanford, N.C., all friends of the bride and Larkin Stokes of Boone, N.C., cousin of the bride.

Gabrielle Steward and Chloe Thompson both of Rocky Mount, N.C., and cousins of the bride were flower girls.

Thomas Keith Bunch of Pulaski served as his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were David Flanders and Mark Flanders of Greensboro, N.C. brothers of the bride, John Kennedy of Roanoke, Scott Marion of Greensboro, N.C., David Shaver of Jamestown, N.C. friends of the groom, Aaron Stokes and Drew Stokes of High Point, N.C., cousins of the bride and friends of the groom, and Van White of Richmond, friend of the groom.

Mrs. Priscilla Eason of Rocky Mount, N.C. was mistress of ceremonies.

The reception was held at the Starmount Country Club.

After a wedding trip to St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands, the couple is making their home in Greensboro, N.C.

Friends of the bride gave her a lingerie shower on March 11 at 2 PM in the home of Heather Dean in High Point, N.C.

The groom’s aunt, Melva West and his cousins Janice Ellis, Stephanie King, and Det Rae Ellis gave a wedding shower at Eureka Baptist Church in Corapeake, N.C. on March 12, 2006.

Nancy Spurgeon and Susan Myers, co-workers of the bride gave a shower at Wesleyan Christian Academy on March 15.

Friends from Westside Chapel and family of the bride gave an ‘Around the Clock Shower’ at Westside Chapel on March 25, 2006. Brunch and fellowship was at 11 AM.

A Bridal Luncheon was given by the bride’s aunts, Bridgette Stokes and Priscilla Eason, and her grandmother, Ann Roderick, at the Stokes home at 11 AM on Friday April 12, 2006.

The groom’s parents, Thomas and Carolyn Bunch entertained the wedding party, guests and friends at a dinner at the Clarion Hotel in Greensboro, N.C., following the rehearsal on Friday April 14, 2006.
