Friday, July 7

The Airfield 4-H Center near Wakefield is hosting a special event for children 5-8, called “Camping is S’more Than Fun,” July 14-16. The cost for the weekend event is $82, which includes meals, lodging and programs. There will be instruction in a challenge course, archery, nature study, canoeing, arts and crafts, and more. Monday, July 10

The Mogarts Beach Day Camp at the FFA-FHA Camp at Mogarts Beach, north of Smithfield, is in its 17th year. The hours are 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Activities include swimming, crafts, music, outdoor games, nature study, manners training, character studies and bible stories. There is a charge for the camp, but no child will be turned away for lack of money. The two camp weeks are July 10-15 and August 7-11. Call 357-4456 or 357-5218.

The East Suffolk After School Summer Enrichment Program will run from Monday, July 10 to Friday, August 11, daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Youth in grades 3-7 are eligible for this enrichment program, with mornings devoted to academics and the afternoons to arts and crafts, fun and games. There is a $25 registration fee and a $10 weekly fee. Enroll early by calling 934-8561 weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, Silver Queen Lodge No. 1495, will host its second annual Fashion Show and Dinner at Temple Beth-El, 3927 Bridge Road, at 4 p.m., July 16. Viola’s Place, 106 N. Saratoga St. will supply the fashions. Donation is $25, and the deadline for ticket purchases is July 10.
