Thanks to all

It is an honor for me to thank so many people that are helping us &uot;Take Steps To End Alzheimer’s.&uot;

On Saturday, July 22 at Franklin High School, there was an ‘Old Fashion Gospel Sing, held to earn money to do just that … helping a loved one, friend, or neighbor living with this dreadful disease.

Thanks to all who attended this fantastic benefit.

We were honored to have Isle of Wight County Sheriff Charlie Phelps and Deputy David Lyons as Masters of Ceremonies, the Rev. Armand Jalbert, who led us in prayer, and the entertainment by The Sojourners, New Journey, The Instruments of Praise and Naoko Jalbert.

We also thank those who sold tickets, helped with publicity, donated door prizes, volunteered their time and those who made this a reality in making this an enjoyable evening.

I also want to thank Williams Florist for making the red/white/blue bows that were sold prior to July 4 to remember our service men and women, who continue to fight for our freedom every day.

Also, thanks to all who purchased the bows.

All proceeds from both of these went directly to the Alzheimer’s Association – Franklin Branch.

And, now we will be selling $1 tickets for a handmade basket and homemade basket raffle to be drawn during the Franklin Branch Memory Walk 2006 at Barrett’s Landing on Sept. 23.

You do not have to be present to win, but we humbly request your support in this.

All proceeds from this will also go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Thank you for all your support.
