Reward offered in robbery

MURFREESBORO – Some local citizens are offering a financial incentive for information about a downtown robbery.
Murfreesboro Police Chief Darryl Rowe said that a group of concerned businessmen have pledged a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an individual who robbed the Jenkins-Brown Insurance Agency at gunpoint Monday afternoon.
Rowe was thankful for the concern and assistance of the local citizens.
&uot;We really appreciate the citizens of Murfreesboro stepping up and trying to assist in our solving the case,&uot; Rowe said. &uot;We are hoping this reward will help lead to a quick resolution.&uot;

The gunman, who remains at large, entered the Murfreesboro business at 212 E. Main Street approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday brandishing a firearm and demanding cash.
After being given money by the owner, the suspect donned a mask and exited the building heading south on Union Street.
Police have interviewed several witnesses, none of whom have been able to identify the suspect.
The suspect was described as a black male approximately 5′-11&uot; in height.
At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and sporting a ‘doo-rag’.
