COVINGTON, Ga. —

Catherine Marie Whitney &uot;Cat&uot; went to her eternal home Oct. 28. She was born May 25, 1975 in Atlanta, and was the youngest of two daughters born to Sandra LaVerne Whitney and Robert S. Whitney Jr. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert S. Whitney Sr., and Elgentine Whitney, and Jean Goodman, all who resided in Suffolk, and a nephew, Hunter Dorsey.

She attended the Dekalb County public schools and graduated from Stone Mountain High School. She attended Georgia College and State University and received her Associate Degree in Business Administration from Georgia Perimeter College. She was senior teller at BB&T, Covington.

Catherine is survived by her parents, Sandra LaVerne Whitney of Covington, and Robert S. Whitney Jr. of Decatur, Ga.; sister, Tia W. Dorsey (Andrew); nephew, Tyler Dorsey; grandfather, William Goodman, of Suffolk; step-grandmother, Betty Whitney, of Suffolk; aunt, Brenda Whitney Broadnax (Bonhuer) of Decatur; uncles, Marvin Goodman and Eugene Goodman (Annette), of Suffolk; great aunts and uncles, cousins and other loving relatives.

Funeral services were held Thursday in Bethlehem Baptist Church, Covington, by the Rev. Hezekiah Benton. Interment was in Lawnwood Cemetery, Covington. Young Funeral Home, Inc., Covington handled arrangements. Local information supplied by Crocker Funeral Home.
