Speak your mind today

The day is here. Today is Election Day — the day for you to vote for the candidate who you feel should either be re-elected or elected into office.

It is time to see if the politicians’ speeches, marketing and cheap shots on numerous TV ads have paid off. It is time to see if their kissing babies and shaking hands have made an impact.

It is the obligation of the voters to put people in a position to run our state and country. The vote should be for the most qualified person, not whether they shook more hands than their competitor or who spoke more elegantly. What matters is determining who will contribute the most to this great Commonwealth of Virginia. Who is going to have the largest positive impact on the economy? Who is going to provide jobs for those who have been unemployed? Who is the best candidate?
