Kudos to the police investigators

The investigation into the shooting death of a city man took a major leap forward Tuesday with the arrest of a suspect.
A Suffolk man was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Winston Carr early Sunday. He was also charged with several other offenses surrounding that incident.
This sounds like some pretty good police work to us.
Sometimes we fail to give our police department enough credit for the things we do. For most of us, our only contact with them is when we are pulled over and given a ticket. And that is the one time we are least likely to be appreciative for all the things they do.
Those who are working on this case — it isn’t over yet, the police are still looking for others who might have information or may even be involved — haven’t stopped with this arrest. They are still pounding the pavement, interviewing witnesses or potential witnesses, pouring over the evidence and everything else they need to do.
In the real world cases such as these are not solved in 40-some minutes (allowing for commercials). It takes time.
But no matter how much time it takes, we are confident our police department will not slow down. It may take a bit longer, but we believe we’ll eventually see everybody responsible put behind bars.
