On Sunday morning, Dec. 3, Vogentina Stephens answered to the call of the Almighty God and entered the land of Eternal Joy. Life began for her on Feb. 13, 1987 in Suffolk. She was the daughter of Nicole Stephens.
She attended Suffolk public schools and graduated from Franklin High School. She was a member of Word for Living Full Gospel Fellowship Center.
She was an active member of the youth choir, praise dancers team and leader of the youth group. She was also a past member of Kings Kids.
She was employed with Wendy’s Fast Food Exchange.
Vogentina was predeceased by her sister, Conesha Stephens, adopted mother, Patsy Riddick and grandmother, Nettie Pope.
She leaves to cherish lasting and loving memories; her mother, Nicole Stephens; sister Gloria Mizell; brothers Vicktor, Swendel and Marcus Stephens, and William, Javon and Daryl Mizell, Marcus Vaughn, Larry and Antonio Major and Mike Edmond; grandparents James and Juanita Mizell and A.J. Buchanan; godparents Vanito and Willie Hoggard, godsister Rhonda Skinner and godbrother Larry Skinner; special niece and nephews D.J., Vonya and Qual; and many cousins; other relatives and friends.
The viewing will be on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The wake service will be from 6-7 p.m. the same night.
A service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. at Words for Living Full Gospel Fellowship Center in Windsor.
Interment will be at Carver Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the T.E. Cooke-Overton Fellowship Hall for a repast following the interment.
