The Holland Razorback Cheerleading squad won the Franklin Little League Football Cheerleading Championship on Wednesday, November 1, making the second straight year that the Holland team took home first place.
The Razorbacks are made up of girls ages 7 to 13 and they came in first out of five teams (Franklin, Windsor, Southampton and Boykins were the other teams).
The girls received a large trophy that is now in the Holland Athletic Association trophy case and the individual team members received a gold cheerleader pin and a first-place ribbon.
The girls had been training for the football season and the competition since July.
&uot;Since we also won the title last year we knew that the other squads in the league would be ready,&uot; said Pamela Fay, coach of the squad.
&uot;I would also like to thank all the parents for allowing me the opportunity of working with their girls this season,&uot; said Fay.
The competition was organized by the commissioner of the Franklin Little League, Bobby Roundtree.
They had judges from Suffolk who knew no one from any of the squads.
