Jean Isabel Riddick, 68, of the 700 block of Dutch Road, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest and peace on Dec. 12 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine Riddick and the widow of Guy Battle. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and the Womens Fellowship.
She leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her passing, a nephew, James A. Riddick (Penelope), of Hempstead, N.Y.; a niece, Ebony Maeling, of New York; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Riddick, of New York; an aunt, Mrs. Edith Fuqua; a goddaughter, Ms. Mitz Blount; a godson, Willie A. Lewis Jr.; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Zion United Church of Christ, 5200 Quaker Drive, Suffolk, by the Rev. Jessie H. Lassiter. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. The family will assemble at 442 Longstreet Lane by noon for the procession to the church. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
