Six court trials scheduled for next week

A man charged with distribution of marijuana is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Terrance Parker is set for trial for two counts of distribution of marijuana in an amount greater than a half-ounce, and less than five pounds, which is a Class 5 felony, punishable by imprisonment for one to 10 years, or jail for up to 12 months and a fine of up to $2,500, either or both.

Parker also is charged with one count of distribution of marijuana less than a half-ounce, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by confinement in jail for up to 12 months and a fine of up to $2,500, either or both.

Other cases scheduled for the first week of the New Year:

Wednesday

Lindell Bryant is scheduled to appear for trial on charges of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana.

Anthony Duke is set to be arraigned on charges of rape, abduction, and sexual penetration with an object.

Thursday

David R. Franklin is scheduled to appear for a jury trial on one count of aggravated malicious wounding, and one count of shooting, stabbing, cutting or wounding.

Melvin Taylor Hawkins is scheduled for a bench trial on counts of stabbing, cutting or wounding, aggravated malicious wounding, shooting into a motor vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Teron Westbrook is set to appear for sentencing on several drug and firearm charges.

Demone Pierce is scheduled for sentencing for one count of forcible sodomy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Friday

Antoine Durant is scheduled for a bench trial for robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery.
