Police are searching for a man accused of abducting, raping and stabbing a 21-year-old woman in the woods off Old Dill Road early Friday.
The 21-year-old victim, who lives in the 100 block of Forest Oak Lane, told police she was on her way into her apartment around 2 a.m. Friday when she was abducted at gunpoint from the building’s landing, said city spokeswoman Debbie George.
The victim told police her assailant stole her car, drove her into some nearby woods and sexually assaulted her, George said. The suspect then tied the woman to a tree and stabbed her several times before fleeing the area in the victim’s car, a black, 4-door 2008 Suzuki Forenza.
The victim was able to escape and make it to the street, where she flagged down a resident in the 800 block of Old Dill Road for help around 4:22 p.m. Friday, according to a city press release. The woman was treated and released from Sentara Obici Hospital.
The victim did not know her attacker, George said.
The suspect is a black man, between the ages of 20 and 30, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with medium brown skin. He has bumps on his face, no facial hair and short hair with a receding hair line.
Police are searching for the suspect and the victim’s car, which has Virginia tags, XVD8532.
