Suffolk police have released a composite sketch of the suspect in a Dec. 3 sexual assault that took place when a woman opened the door to her home to a man claiming to be a repairman.
The 25-year-old Kings Fork Road victim was alone at home with her 10-month-old baby when a man knocked on her door and claimed her landlord had sent him to make repairs at the home.
After she allowed the man inside, he implied he had a knife and then assaulted her inside the house, police said. The child was not injured in the attack.
The suspect was described as a 30- to 40-year-old black male, 5’8” or taller with heavy build, a balding head with very short or receding hair and little on the sides, along with bad, uneven bottom teeth and a gold tooth on the top left side. The victim said her assailant had a squeaky voice.
The suspect is thought to have left the scene in a dark-colored SUV, possibly an Explorer or an Expedition.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the lead investigator, Detective Carlos Gonzalez, at 514-7945, or the Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up.
