Teachers’ subs deserve more pay

Published 1:05 am Saturday, March 14, 2009

I appreciate the efforts of the Suffolk School Board to address the needs of the members of the Suffolk Substitute Teachers’ Association. I also appreciate the efforts of all of the strong substitute teachers who have encouraged the teachers and students of the city.

Our association provides the educational community with the widest possible selection of high-quality substitute teachers at reasonable pay, with particular attention being paid to academic requirements.

We request a long-range commitment toward increasing the salaries of substitute teachers to help meet the needs of the teachers, as well as faculty, students and administration.
