A man in his 40s was rushed by ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Friday night after he was shot in the chest following an altercation at a home in the 100 block of Nansemond Pointe Drive.
Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George was unable to release further information about the man who was shot or to identify his assailant.
She said there had been an altercation between people within the home. One person left the building and then came back and shot the man in the chest, she said.
There was no information immediately available about the victim’s condition, but emergency workers told a police dispatcher that they had started CPR.
