Heavy rainfall caused city officials to close the 600 block of Constance Road, from Main Street to Katherine Street, on Wednesday evening.

In addition, the 700-900 blocks of North Main Street were closed Wednesday night.

“This is a low lying area and is anticipated to flood and close with each high tide during the storm,” said city spokeswoman Debbie George in a news release.

There was no word on when either would reopen.
