City offices delay opening, garbage pick-up adjusted
Suffolk city offices will delay their opening Monday morning by two hours and have allowed “liberal leave for non-alpha personnel.”
In updates Sunday, the city also announced all garbage pick-ups scheduled for Monday would be done Tuesday, pushing the day-to-day schedule back a day through the week. Garbage collection scheduled for Friday would now be set for Saturday.
All of these moves are in response to the questionable road conditions throughout the city and the city’s efforts in clearing primary and secondary roads.
The city has also asked for residents’ help in that road clearing effort.
“Citizens can greatly assist in these efforts by remaining off roadways and not parking vehicle in the public right of way,” a city release said.
