Junior guard Ransheda Jennings (King’s Fork) scored a game-high 17 points to lead Chowan in a 60-49 basketball win over UNC-Pembroke Tuesday in Murfreesboro, N.C.

Jennings added five rebounds, three assists and two steals as CU’s starting point guard. For the season, she’s averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Chowan (3-4) hosts Felician Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

South Carolina St. sophomore Trinese Fox (Nansemond River) had nine points and four assists in SCSU’s 63-34 win over visiting Coker Monday.

Fox, who sometimes starts and sometimes is a reserve at guard for the Lady Bulldogs (3-3), is averaging 4.6 points, 3.0 assists and 1. 6 steals a game.

Cincinnati’s men’s basketball team rolled to a 9-0 record with a 99-54 win over Georgia Southern Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Sophomore guard Jaquon Parker (King’s Fork) totaled six points, four boards and two assists in 17 minutes for UC.

Three former Lakeland basketball players and four players from Suffolk in all are on the debuting Seven Cities Knights, a new American Basketball Association (ABA) team playing home games at Churchland and the Boo Williams Sportsplex.

Six-foot-5 guard Jaleel Nelson, six-foot-4 guard Eric Ruffin and 6-foot-4 guard/forward John Lillard are the former Cavaliers. Six-foot-9 center Travis Klink’s hometown is Suffolk. He went to Granby High School.

The Knights are undefeated with blowout wins so far. The Knights beat the Maryland Marvels 131-99 and Fav Flight 133-89. The Knights host Maryland at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton Saturday at 7 p.m.
