The Lady Bulldogs scored in every inning except the first. A single from Shania Holland brought home two runners, and KF never looked back.

Holland was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Ashley Roten and Taylor Davis also both went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Sydney Wash continued her hot streak on the pitcher’s mound with a dominant effort. She threw a complete game, striking out 12 and giving up just three hits. It was her third consecutive shutout and eighth shutout of the year.

“She is on her game,” said KF head coach Richard Froemel. “We’re going to ride, but we’ve got to hit the ball. We’re going to compliment her pitching.”

The win was the KF’s third of the year versus Lakeland. The first two matchups were decided by just one run.

The Lady Bulldogs, who are seeded fourth in the tourney, will take on top-seeded Hickory in the semifinals.

King’s Fork upset Hickory 1-0 in the team’s second meeting.

The game will be Tuesday at Nansemond River High School, starting at 5:30 p.m.
