Crews are working to restore electricity to nearly 4,000 customers in the Chesapeake Square area and expect the power to be on again in that community between 1 and 3 p.m.
According to resources on Dominion Virginia Power’s website, about 3,800 customers were without power as of noon on Tuesday. Company officials were not sure what had caused the outage, but were investigating the situation and working to restore it.
The outage was affecting businesses, homes and traffic signals in the area near the intersection of Taylor Road and Portsmouth Boulevard.
