Larry T. Strickland Jr., son of Larry and Gwen Strickland, of Suffolk, recently completed his Airborne Training Course at Ft. Benning, Ga.

He received a full ROTC scholarship from the U.S. Army. He is a junior attending Virginia State University and majoring in criminal justice and computer science. He is a 2010 graduate of King’s Fork High School.
