Employees from the QVC Distribution Center in Suffolk donated hundreds of toiletry items to the Roc Solid Foundation recently in support of the organization’s Ready Bag program.

QVC’s manager of transportation, Steven Soffos, right, presents the items to Eric Newman in December.

Roc Solid Ready Bags are given to families that have recently learned that their child has cancer and include everything they might need for an unexpected hospital stay. QVC employees conducted a drive to collect these items, which will be used to fill 57 Ready Bags in 2013.

“We are so grateful to QVC for this donation,” said Eric Newman, left, founder of the Roc Solid Foundation. “The items that fill our Ready Bags are basic, but they are the first step toward building hope for families in a time of unthinkable distress.”
