Lakeland boys lose to Oscar Smith
The Lakeland boys’ basketball team fell on the road to Oscar Smith on Tuesday, 58-41.
Senior guard Michael Piersawl led the Cavaliers with 12 points.
Lakeland (7-12, 4-10) played last night at home against Indian River.
Great Bridge edges Lady Warriors
Great Bridge managed to edge out the host Nansemond River Lady Warriors with a 56-54 win on Tuesday.
It did not stop senior point guard Ashante Humphries from having a great scoring night with 21 points.
Nansemond River (4-14, 3-11) went to Western Branch to play last night.
Lady Saints beat Bishop Sullivan
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Lady Saints defeated host Bishop Sullivan on Tuesday, 59-36.
NSA relied heavily upon its stars as junior guard Jessica Pieroni had 25 points and three steals, freshman guard Harper Birdsong had 16 points, six assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks and junior guard/forward Kaylor Nash had 14 points, 10 boards and six steals.
The Lady Saints (14-4, 3-0) hosted Cape Henry Collegiate last night.
NSA boys lose to Bishop Sullivan
The Nansemond-Suffolk boys’ basketball team lost 77-41 to Bishop Sullivan on the road Tuesday.
Junior forward John Hogan led the Saints with 12 points.
Cape Henry Collegiate visited NSA (1-20, 0-4) Thursday night.
