Lakeview Medical Center, a highly regarded multi-specialty group, serving the Suffolk community since 1906, will join Bayview Physicians Group, effective Monday, officials from both organizations announced this week.

With the addition of Lakeview Medical Center, Bayview will be expanding its medical service lines in internal medicine and primary care, pediatrics, pulmonary and critical care, rheumatology, dermatology, and hospitalist medicine.

In addition, the collaboration will expand Bayview’s service lines to include the specialties of otolaryngolog, physical medicine and rehabilitation and obstetrics and gynecology. This union will also expand ancillary services to include an AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center, a reference laboratory and a CT scanner.

In addition, Bayview will continue to offer services in the currently served neighborhoods of Franklin and Isle of Wight County.

“We look forward to combining the two medical groups to continue providing high quality care, and expand accessibility for patients in our community,” said Dr. James Holleran, Lakeview Medical Center’s president.

In June, Bayview will open a new, state-of-the-art healthcare facility on Godwin Boulevard at the intersection of Hillpoint Boulevard. The center will offer urgent-care, walk-in services seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in an effort to expand access to healthcare services in Suffolk outside of normal business hours.

“Bayview’s promise is to provide quality healthcare that has value to the patient,” said Dr. Tony Cetrone, president of Bayview Physicians Group.

“The cornerstone of quality healthcare is the doctor/patient relationship. A patient wants to count on their doctor’s voice of advocacy. The doctor wants to know their patients, so they can help navigate through a myriad of healthcare options. Everything we do must focus on the doctor/patient relationship. That’s first and foremost and it will never change.”
