The practice outgrew its former space on Breezeport Way and constructed a new location. To celebrate the expansion, a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony were held on Thursday with Congressman J. Randy Forbes and Mayor Linda Johnson presenting remarks.

The new 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art medical facility provides comprehensive care in the management of sleep disorders and neurological conditions. Virginia Neurology & Sleep Centers help patients with sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, daytime sleepiness and restless leg syndrome. There is an on-site sleep lab with six bedrooms, all in a home-like environment.

The clinic’s doctors are all board-certified in both sleep medicine and neurology. Dr. I.A. “Dimi” Barot completed his sleep fellowship training through the Yale University School of Medicine. He is joined at the practice by his brother, Dr. N.A. Barot, who was trained at Stanford University, and his father, Dr. A.J. Barot, who is certified in sleep medicine, neurology and psychiatry.

“Excellent care and patient satisfaction are the foundation of our centers,” Dr. Dimi Barot said. “Our expansion in Suffolk enhances our ability to provide high-quality and timely sleep care to a wider reach of residents on both the Southside and Peninsula. We are proud of the fact that most people who call for an appointment can usually get scheduled the same week.”

Together, the award-winning specialists provide care utilizing modern technology and a comprehensive approach to managing neurological and sleep conditions.

“The growth of Virginia Neurology & Sleep Centers is attributed to their important medical service and impeccable patient care,” Suffolk Mayor Linda T. Johnson said in a press release announcing the opening. “Sound sleep plays such an important role in an individual’s overall health and wellness. I am so pleased to see Dr. Barot’s practice grow in Suffolk.”

Virginia Neurology & Sleep Centers has additional locations in Chesapeake and Portsmouth.
