Home Sweet Home Care Inc. has added more than 40 hours’ worth of free professional courses for family caregivers to its website.
The courses offer self-paced training on subjects including how to communicate with someone with Alzheimer’s, signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s, body systems and the aging process and more. The courses are designed to help caregivers communicate effectively, understand the aging process, and take care of the elderly.
“Family caregivers almost always start this journey alone and with insufficient resources,” said Shirley McGee, CEO of Home Sweet Home Care Inc.
“Our goal is to help them quickly get up to speed in what it takes to care for their loved one. This is professionally produced training by aQuire, a leader in caregiver training, and it is very similar to the training we require of our professional caregivers. We feel this will really help reduce the learning curve and stress that family caregivers face when caring for a loved elder.”
The courses are available at www.homesweethomecareinc.com and are free to the public.
