Adela Williams enjoys planning parties and loves being around children. Those qualities make her new business a perfect fit.

Williams opened Happy Tots Entertainment in May and already has done seven events, including church events. The company rents bounce houses, character costumes and concessions including popcorn, cotton candy and snow cone machines.

“I didn’t see that in the market for Suffolk,” Williams said. Her best friend told her “it is a very lucrative business,” she added.

Williams is in school at Averett University, studying criminal justice. She said the business is something she can do around her class times.

“I like planning parties,” she said. “The kids get so excited.”

Happy Tots has two bounce houses, including one with a slide that can be used dry or with water.

Character costumes she offers include superheroes and cartoon characters from television and movies.
