Nansemond River High School’s golf team continued a good start to the season with a 329-404 win over Deep Creek High School on Wednesday at Nansemond River Golf Club.

Griffin Genier had the top score for the Warriors with an 80 on the par-72 course. Bryce Strong, Leo Outland and Ryan Fischer each shot an 83.

Caleb Knaack, a senior transfer student, put together a round of 86 in what NR head coach Craig Stephenson stated was his “first round with us after getting in from Washington at 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.”

Ryan Sams recorded an 87.

Nansemond River (4-1) faces Oscar Smith High School on Monday at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth.
