Lady Bulldogs fall then rise

The King’s Fork High School girls’ volleyball team faced two conference rivals from across the James River this week.
They traveled to Heritage on Tuesday, but came away with a 3-0 loss: 19-25, 25-27, 19-25.
Latonia Thomas managed nine kills for the Bulldogs, while Taylor Harrell had seven kills and two aces. Erin Banks produced 11 assists.
On Thursday, King’s Fork hosted Phoebus High School and won in a match that went to a full five games: 25-15, 18-25, 27-29, 25-22, 15-5.
Thomas again was a notable presence on the court for the Lady Bulldogs, recording 10 kills, three blocks and three aces. Tiffany Cox had eight kills and Banks handed out 16 assists.
King’s Fork visits Denbigh High School on Tuesday.
