Downtown Suffolk’s Harper’s Table has been named a winner of the OpenTable Diners’ Choice Awards for the top 100 restaurants in the United States that specialize in American cuisine.

The list of winners was derived from more than five million reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“We are humbled to be included on the same list as so many of these great restaurants,” chef/owner Harper Bradshaw said in a news release announcing the distinction. “We thank all of our ‘hT’ guests for taking time to write about their time at our table. We are proud to know that these diners thoroughly enjoyed their overall experience and gave us such high marks.”

The awards were based on feedback between November 2012 and October 2013.

OpenTable provides online restaurant reservations, with more than 12 million diners a month booking reservations at more than 30,000 participating restaurants.

“American fare is constantly evolving, making it one of the most exciting cuisines in the culinary landscape,” said Caroline Potter, OpenTable’s chief dining officer. “The chefs at these winning restaurants are finding inspiration on local farms, in home kitchens here and abroad and in their own closely knit restaurant communities, serving up dishes that reflect both time and place in our national culture.”
