Uneda Walker Simms was born on Aug. 19, 1955, to the late William Walker and Minnie Smith. She departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Dec. 28, 2013.She is predeceased by her sister, Alvia (Avone) Crippen, and her brother, William Walker Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband of 21 years, Ivan Simms Sr.; one daughter, Cleo Walker; three sons, Rahnell Walker, Sammy Walker and Donny Walker; a sister, Gaynell Lewter (James); of Oxon Hill, Md.; two brothers, Otis Walker, of Virginia Beach, and Alvester Walker, of Augusta, Ga. She had 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and 41 godchildren. She leaves behind a host of adopted children, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral of triumph service will be Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at 1 p.m. at New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church, 720 Hosier Road, Suffolk. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at 1304 Shelton Court. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home going service.
