A city worker was slightly injured when a pole on a city dump truck struck him on the head, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.

The industrial accident occurred at 8:18 a.m. in the 800 block of Carolina Road. He was driven by a co-worker to Sentara Obici Hospital for medical treatment for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
