Have you ever wondered what it would take to raise sheep, goats, llamas or alpacas?

The Suffolk Cooperative Extension Office will host a Small Ruminant Production Workshop on April 24, from noon to 4:30 p.m., at the Tidewater AREC, 6321 Holland Road.

The workshop will include sessions on small ruminant meat production, small ruminant dairy production, cooking goat meet and its nutritional value, as well as hands-on training on body-condition scoring, hoof trimming and vaccinations.

The cost of the workshop is $8 per person. Participants will receive a free taste test of small ruminant products and be eligible for door prizes.
